Just like everyone else on the planet, I saw Star Wars: The Last Jedi last month. I, for one, loved it, and I was surprised by the backlash I saw online as soon as I checked social media after my first viewing. While watching the film, I kept thinking, "Wow, this film is really subverting typical Star Wars tropes, and I am glad Rian Johnson took these risks," Many people did not share my sentiment. And I can understand.
